I interviewed three architects for my job, Brent looked beyond the obvious, pushed my thinking and added another dimension to the project. Not just the design but the practicality of the build and the connection between all the aspects of renovating.
I would have had to engage an architect, a builder, an interior designer and a landscape gardener but Brent did it all in a seamless and cohesive way.
Brent is a perfectionist, his attention to detail, quality, vision, passion and work ethic is exemplary, all wrapped up in a really nice, honest and trustworthy person.
The result for me has been a truly cohesive, timeless and beautiful transformation of my home.

It was a pleasure to work alongside Brent. His attention to detail and ability to realise design moments to the highest level, ensured a beautiful result. He can effortlessly foresee the intricate layers that are required to create enduring design. I look forward to collaborating together again in the future.

Visionary. Passion. Perfectionist. Artistry. Yes, I am writing about a builder in the 21st century. These words are not associated with typical builders but Brent is not a typical builder. For instance, if tiles are on the floor and adjoining wall he cares that the grout lines matches up, even if there is a baseboard separation between them. If he is building your shower and putting niches in for soap and shampoo he will look ahead and make sure the plumbing is in a place that allows the niche to be 10cm wider.
We were overseas for most of the renovation of our townhouse in Herne Bay. We came back and couldn’t even conjure up a punch list. That has never happened to us before. We were shocked in a good way.
This craftsmanship and thinking ahead takes a bit more time than a typical throw-it-together builder. But the time invested is worth it. You are going to live in your home for an indefinite amount of time. If you care at all about detail, think about all the future agitation you are saving by not seeing mistakes every day. Calm and peace when you walk into your home, not regret.
We don’t have a “Cult of Builder” in our society but if we did, I’d have Brent sign my home. Like an artist’s work, it would be worth more in the future. I know it’s worth more to me now.
